3648696 - Error "500 Connection Timed Out" when editing business roles - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• "Communication error" or "500 Connection Timed Out" error messages displays when attempting to edit a business role.
• The system stays loading for a long time and then times out after clicking the "Edit" button for roles containing a large number of business catalogs and IAM Apps.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the "Maintain Business Roles" application.
2. Select a business role containing a large amount of business catalogs.
3. Click the "Edit" button.

With the introduction of IAM apps into business roles, roles that contain a very large number of business catalogs can no longer be processed successfully.

Split the large business role into multiple smaller business roles, each containing a smaller subset of business catalogs for the best performance.
