3648898 - The Distribution Channel Which is Not Maintained in Account Master Data Still Selectable in Sales Order

Symptom

The products with Distribution Channel "XYZ" selectable in Sales Orders despite it is not maintained in Account Master Data.

(AAA represents the Account ID and XYZ represents distribution channel)

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Order work center
  2. Go to view: Sales orders
  3. Create new Sales Order with Account AAA and select distribution channel XYZ from the drop down.
  4. The products in which the distribution channel XYZ is maintained under sales data tab are eligible to be added in sales order.

Cause

It occurs because only products that have the selected distribution channel "XYZ" maintained under the Sales Data tab are eligible to be added to the Sales Order.
If the product does not have the corresponding distribution channel assigned, the system restricts its addition to the Sales Order.

Resolution

This is system standard behavior
