• The “Minimize Memory Usage” feature in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is designed to reduce memory consumption in stories by only materializing dimensions and their attributes that are actually used by a widget.
• This can help improve performance and reduce story size, especially for Live BW models with numerous dimensions.
• This avoids loading unnecessary data into memory, optimizing browser performance and story efficiency.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

1. Open the Story
2. Go to the Story Settings drop-down
3. Select Query Settings
4. Enable or disable the Minimize Memory Usage option

• The story size exceeds the browser's memory limits due to numerous dimensions, pages, widgets, or styling rules.

When enabled, Minimize Memory Usage ensures that each Query Model (QM) materializes only the dimensions (and their attributes) actively used by the associated widget.

2. Improved Browser Performance: For Live BW models with many dimensions, this feature reduces the memory footprint in the browser, potentially improving load times and interaction responsiveness.

Limitations:

• Repeated Loading: Dimensions used in multiple widgets may be loaded multiple times that could impact the load time.
