3649073 - Spain Compliance Form (Modelo 145): Validation Supports DNI but Not NIE – Onboarding

When completing Modelo 145 (Compliance Form for Spain) in the Onboarding process, the onboardee selects option 2 and attempts to enter their NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero). However, the system does not accept the NIE format (e.g., X0123456A) and only validates DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad) format (e.g., 01234567A)

The system validation for Modelo 145 currently recognizes and accepts only DNI format by default.

• The NIE format is not included in the form’s automatic validation logic.
• While Modelo 145 legally accepts both DNI and NIE, the delivered system configuration does not yet support NIE format validation.

Current behavior is expected system design: Only DNI is validated in the delivered Modelo 145 form. If onboardees need to provide NIE instead of DNI, this must be managed outside of the standard automatic validation.

To ensure compliance:

• The employer remains responsible for verifying the NIF/NIE submitted.
• Alternatively, the NIE can be validated directly on the Agencia Tributaria website or through official tools.
