3649217 - When using Mozilla Firefox to edit the Job Profile on a Job Requisition, instead of showing the actual text content, the Rich Text Editor displays HTML code in the various sections - Recruiting Management

Symptom

After creating a Job Requisition and editing a section of the Job Profile, then switching to edit another section and switching back to the first section, the Rich Text Editor displays HTML instead of the expected text content. The issue occurs exclusively in the Mozilla Firefox browser and does not occur in Chrome or Edge

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox browser (issue does not occur on Chrome or Edge).
  2. Login to SuccessFactors
  3. Navigate to Recruiting
  4. Open any Job Requisition
  5. Navigate to the Job Profile tab.
  6. Edit anything in the first section (e.g., delete something using backspace).
  7. Switch to another section and edit anything (e.g., delete something using backspace).
  8. Switch back to the first section; the issue occurs (HTML code is displayed instead of the expected text content)

Cause

The problem stems from Firefox throwing a JavaScript error when the editor is unmounted from the DOM after a content update

Resolution

Our developers have raised this issue with the Firefox team, but unfortunately, we do not have a timeline for a fix as it is now up to the Mozilla developers to address it. In the meantime, for updating the Job Profile on a Job Requisition, please use an alternative browser such as Chrome or Edge.
