3649307 - Display name is incorrect when creating users through basic import

• After basic import process to create new users, you can see that the display name shows incorrectly
• The issue occurs even though the import file does not contain fields for "Display Name"

1. Perform a Basic Import with the new users information
2. Observe that the display name and other fields are not updated as per the import file but retain values from previously inactive users

The issue occurs because the import file includes user ID and username from inactive users in the system and when inactive users are reactivated during the import process, fields such as display name, reporting manager, profile image and other data are inherited from the inactive user record.

• If you want to recreate new users using the inactive values of user ID and username that already exist in he system, then during the basic import add the "Display Name" value to the import file and populate it with the correct values to ensure the display name is updated during the import process.
• Or you can also consider purging inactive user records from the system as per KBA 2615360, prior to importing new users with those user IDs, so the new users will be newly created without previous records.
