Symptom

  • Text collection field is not available for selection when creating a custom data source.

Environment

ByDesign Studio Lifecycle Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a custom business object (BO).
  2. Add a dependent object of type TextCollection to the custom BO.
  3. Attempt to create a data source on the custom BO.
  4. Observe that the field of type TextCollection is not available for selection in the data source creation wizard.

Cause

Text collection fields cannot be added to data sources.

Resolution

  1. Recognize that text collection fields are not supported for inclusion in data sources.
  2. Seek alternative measures to achieve the desired functionality.
