You may also find with Display Line Items - General Ledger, the postings are with account assignment category EO instead of KS.

Expected behavior: You want to manually enter a cost center/WBS Element as the account assignment. However, the system unintentionally determines a profitability segment instead.

The errors occur due to configuration settings in SSCUI 102639 - Manage Default Account Assignments.

After CE2508 upgrade, the account assignment determination behavior changed a little bit.

Before the upgrade, after opening the item details in app Post General Journal Entries if there is error (for example profit center is missing), the Profit. Segment will not be derived automatically.

After the upgrade, the Profit. Segment is derived although there is error for the item.

System logic:

• If no manually entered account assignment is found, the system automatically derives the account assignment based on the settings maintained in SSCUI 102639.
• For instance, if the default account assignment is set to "Profitability Segment," the system assigns the profitability segment as the actual account assignment, leaving the manually entered cost center as a statistical account assignment.

To ensure the system does not automatically derive the account assignment from SSCUI 102639, follow these steps when entering line item information in the Post General Journal Entries app:

Option 1:

1. Enter the account without specifying the credit/debit value.
2. Click the arrow to open the detailed information pane.
3. Manually input the cost center and press Enter.
4. Now, maintain the credit/debit value for the account.

Option 2:

If you find the Profit. Segment is derived, you can click the link "View Profitability Segment" and delete from the popup screen. Then you can enter cost center/WBS Element as the real accounta ssignment.

By following these steps, the profitability segment will not be auto-assigned, ensuring the cost center/WBS Element becomes the primary account assignment, rather than being treated as statistical.
