Symptom

Unable to display the changelogs for legacy system-migrated Purchase Orders in the "Manage Purchase Orders" application.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Manage Purchase Orders" application
  2. View the Purchase order
  3. Click on Display change logs
  4. Observe that the changelogs are not displayed.

Cause

  • The change history was not migrated during the legacy system migration process.
  • The standard migration objects (e.g., via SAP Fiori app "Migrate Your Data") do not include change log data.

Resolution

The "Manage Purchase Orders" app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud does not display change logs for Purchase Orders that were migrated from a legacy system due to the nature of data migration.
 
When Purchase Orders are migrated, they are typically brought into the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system as new records, often using tools like the Migration Cockpit. The change log functionality within the "Manage Purchase Orders" app records changes made within the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system after the document's creation or initial import.
