3650038 - Error when extending Global Assignment due to inactive Legal Entity

• Legal Entity for the first Global Assignment for the Employee has been inactivated, causing an error when attempting to extend the Global Assignment for an employee.
• The system displays the following error message: "The selected Legal Entity is inactive on [date]. You can either validate the Legal Entity on Manage Data page or you can select another Legal Entity."

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Create a global assignment record with a start date in the past and assign the user to Legal Entity A.
2. Navigate to Manage Data and mark Legal Entity A as inactive.
3. Add a new record to the global assignment and move the employee from Legal Entity A to Legal Entity B.
4. Go to Take Action > Manage Global Assignment > attempt to modify data such as the planned end date or actual end date.

Expected System Behavior.

The system design does not support modification of planned end date or actual end date when the associated Legal Entity is inactive.

Modification of Company/Legal Entity from Edit Assignment UI is not supported and if we modify the planned end date or actual end date to date when company value shown on the UI is no longer active then it will throw error.

1. End the ongoing global assignment for the employee.
2. Create a new global assignment record for the employee with the updated Legal Entity information.
3. Alternatively, perform a workaround using API/Import:

• Conduct a Global Assignment and Job Information import to modify the company data.
