3650051 - Error: Posting Date Must Not Be After Migration Date When Reversing Migrated Goods Receipt

When trying to reverse and repost a Journal entry of a migrated goods receipt to another period.

Error occurs: "Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must not be after migration date DD.MM.YYYY".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to General Ledger work center .
2. Go to Journal Entries view .
3. Locate Journal entry ABC (ABC refers to journal entry id) with source document DEF (DEF refers to source document id) . 
4. Select "You can also" - View business transaction.
5. Select "Reverse and Repost in another period" and choose a current date, for example, DD+1.MM.YYYY .
6. Observe the error message: "Posting date DD+1.MM.YYYY must not be after migration date DD.MM.YYYY " .
   
   

The migration posting date is set to DD.MM.YYYY . The system does not allow postings after this migration date.

First option: Change the migration posting date to a currently open period.

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Navigate to Companies view.
3. Select the relevant company.
4. Click "Actions" and select "Set Posting Date for Migration".
5. Adjust the migration posting date to the current date or after the reversal posting date.

Second option: Reverse and repost the journal entry to a date which is prior to the current migration date.

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Navigate to Journal Entries view.
3. Locate Journal entry ABC (ABC refers to journal entry id)  with source document DEF (DEF refers to source document id ) .
4. Select "You can also" - View business transaction.
5. Select "Reverse in another period" and choose a posting date before the migration date.
6. Click "Go" to complete the reversal.

Note : Perform all changes in a test environment first to ensure the resulting documents are as expected.
