3650053 - Solution not opening on SDK Extension from Visual Studio

Symptom

When trying to open a custom solution in the the SDK extension from Microsoft Visual Studio 2022, the below error occur:

  • Severe error while opening a solution: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\2022\Enterprise\Common7\IDE\ABC_123\YXXXXXXX_BC\' is denied.  

Environment

  • SAP Cloud Applications Studio
  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • SAP Cloud for Customer

Cause

The cause is a permission denied error while trying to scan the folder where Visual Studio SDK plugin maintains the Solution files when the implementation manager is opened.

Resolution

  1. Close the implementation manager.
  2. Logout of the SDK.
  3. Close Visual Studio.
  4. Open and login again.

In case the implementation manager is used during your session, please close it first before closing the SDK.

Another solution would be to run Visual Studio as an administrator.
