3650228 - Mass update of 'Person responsible' in Contract and Lease Management - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • A user previously entered as "Person Responsible" in lease contracts was deleted.
  • Manual updates are not feasible due to large number of active contracts requiring update.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Delete a user who is listed as "Person Responsible" in lease contracts.
  2. Attempt to update the "Person Responsible" field across multiple contracts.
  3. Observe that manual updates are required for each contract individually.

Cause

When user assigned as 'Person Responsible' is deleted from the system, assigned contracts need to be updated to an active user.

Resolution

  1. Utilize SAP provided API 'Real Estate Contracts' for mass updates to the "Person Responsible" field in lease contracts.
  2. Refer to the documentation for the API on the SAP Business Accelerator Hub
  3. The relevant field is named 'Responsible' in the API documentation
