3650532 - How Transit Plants work in the Advanced Intercompany Sales (5D2) scope item

After starting the configuration of the the scope item Advanced Intercompany Sales Process, the step 4.8 required that you assign Transit plants to the Company Codes stored in the system.

With the "Transit Plant" field, the customer can define the plant in the selling company of an Advanced InterCompany Sales process that shall be used for the (virtual) material stock postings. It has to be assigned to the selling company.

The Advanced InterCompany Sales process needs a plant inside the selling company for the virtual stock postings which we name 'Transit Plant'. If the process is plants "A, B, C delivers through Z to the customer", plant A, B, C will be the delivering plants (provided in the Sales Order) and any (single) plant in company Z (for example Z) can be the transit plant.

The Advanced InterCompany Sales process needs to create a complete value chain for Financial calculations and a cross-company material valuation (for example, for a Group Valuation or Actual Cost Component Split).

In order to get a complete chain, it is necessary to post a virtual flow of goods in the selling company.

A goods receipt into storage location (virtually), transfer to Stock in Transit, goods issues to customer will take place.

All these will post to a material valuation in a plant of the selling company, this is the definition used for the transit plant. 

In order to have virtual plant stock posted in the selling company, the system technically needs a plant. Since there could be multiple plants in one company, the customer must choose one and assign it to the company. The transit plant is used to get a material value flow in the selling company. 

The transit plant is not reflecting the plants which are supplying the goods (delivering plants).
