3651073 - Workzone - Multiple Screen reader issues impacting navigation and accessibility

• Screen readers are unable to close the window after a PDF is opened.
• The "X" (close) button located in the top right corner of the interface is never highlighted, making it impossible to close the document and return to the rest of the site.
• Screen readers cannot access the content within PDFs, denying users the ability to read the information contained in these documents.
• Users are unable to access the drop-down list under "Workspaces" as the nested menu items are not revealed while navigating with the keyboard.

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Navigate to the WorkZone interface.
2. Open a PDF document.
   *Use the keyboard to navigate through the document.
   *Observe that the "X" (close) button in the top-right corner is not highlighted when pressing the tab key.
3. Attempt to read the content of the PDF using a screen reader.
   *Observe that the screen reader cannot access the content.
4. Navigate to the "Workspaces" drop-down menu using the keyboard.
  *Observe that the nested menu items are not revealed.

• The inability to close the window after opening a PDF was identified as an ACC-related issue.
• The inability to read PDF documents is due to a WorkZone limitation where the browser’s PDF viewer is embedded
• The issue with the "Workspaces" dropdown list is due to the complexity of the menu runtime implementation, which does not currently meet accessibility standards.

1. For the issue of closing the window after opening a PDF:

• A code correction is under development. Monitor release notes for updates.

2. For the issue of reading PDF documents:

• This is a limitation of the current implementation. Issue cannot be fixed or implemented from technical perspective.
• As a workaround users may need to use alternative methods to access PDF content, such as downloading the file and using a standalone PDF reader.

3. For the issue with the "Workspaces" dropdown list:

• The solution is under development. Monitor release notes for updates.
