3651092 - Inconsistent Behavior of Unsupported MDF Custom Object Configurations Between Legacy and Latest People Profiles

While certain fields display as expected in the Legacy People Profile, the same configuration has a different and unexpected behavior in the Latest People Profile

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Enable the Latest People Profile under Company System and Logo Settings
2. Note any differences in the behavior of certain fields compared to the Legacy People Profile.
   For example:
   • Missing fields that are present in the Legacy People Profile.
   • Fields that have visibility controlled by UI rules but are always visible in the Latest People Profile.

It may be caused by unsupported configuration, such as, but not limited to:

• A field without a backend field reference
• Multiple fields added with the same reference field (Value Type Resolver).
• A field reference pointing to the property of a reference field: cust_example1.cust_example2 where cust_example2 is a property of a reference field of the generic object cust_example1. 

• Identify and remove fields without backend field references from the UI configuration.
• Ensure that no duplicate fields with the same reference (Value Type Resolver) exist in the UI configuration.
• Make sure the fields in the UI reference only fields from the root object.

Steps to check the above points:

1. Go to Manage Configuration UI
2. Search for and select the UI
3. Click on the pencil icon to view the properties of the field
4. Confirm that the "Value Type" is set to "Resolver" and the "Value Type Resolver" is referencing a field from the root object
5. Upon reviewing multiple fields, ensure that each field has a unique "Value Type Resolver" and that no resolver is used across multiple fields.

If the UI is corrupted after these changes, create a new UI and add it to the object's Default Screen.

Note: the configurations mentioned above are not supported in both Legacy and Latest People Profile and may only appear to work in certain cases by coincidence.
