3651112 - Processes mistakenly re-added to onboarding queue - Onboarding

Symptom

Old onboarding 1.0 processes are being re-added to onboarding and assigned to admin users.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Observe the onboarding queue in the system.
  2. Old onboarding 1.0 tasks being re-added to the queue.

Cause

One contributing factor to this issue is a business rule configured within the system to trigger a transfer event based on specific changes to an employee’s job information updating the Event Reason field. This rule executes after a post-save action, meaning the transfer event is initiated once the job information is saved and validated.

The Onboarding 1.0 system is subscribed to this transfer event. When the rule conditions are met, the system automatically launches an Internal Hire process, treating the change as a new onboarding scenario. This automation can lead to unintended onboarding triggers if the job information update was not meant to initiate a transfer.

Resolution

  • Remove Onboarding from the rule subscription. This will prevent automatic initiation of internal hire processes when the business rule is triggered.

  • Manual Cleanup of Onboarding Queue Since batch deletion is not supported, manually identify and remove any incorrect or duplicate onboarding entries from the queue.
