Symptom
Not able to submit medical insurances unless the Health Check field is re-selected with "No Selection" value.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the user profile.
- Access the benefits section and select a Health Insurance benefit
- Attempt to save the enrollment, and observe the error message
- Re-select the Health Check field to "No Selection"
- Observe that the Employer Contribution is recalculated correctly, and saving the enrollment is successful
Cause
The rule to set contributions for the insurance enrollment is configured to use "today's" date during the eligibility check.
Resolution
You can configure a rule trace to check which rule is setting the contributions.
Once you have the rule used to set contributions you will need to make sure that the rule is configured to retrieve the start date from the schedule period, instead of defaulting to today's date, as the option below:
- Start Date: Lookup(Benefit Schedule Period) > Enrollment Effective From.
- End Date: Benefit Enrollment > Enrollment Valid Until.
