Symptom
- Data validation failed during the import of customer payment data through Mass Data Maintenance
- Error message displayed: "Data Validation failed, Create an Incident".
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Mass Data Maintenance work center
- Select the "Export Customers" link > Redirected to the Export Of Customers page
- Choose Go in additional fields below
- Select the required tab below where data is to migrated
- Choose Export data to CSV file
- Maintain the required data in the exported file.
- Return to the Mass Data Maintenance work center and select the "Import Customers" link
- Select Upload Data from Text File > select the updated CSV file
- Attempt to import the file and observe the error message: "Data Validation failed, Create an Incident".
Cause
- Duplicate entries in the imported CSV file can lead to data validation errors.
- Missing data entry for all the required rows
Resolution
- Open the CSV file where data was maintained and was used for the import of Customer Data
- Identify and remove any duplicate entries in the file.
- Ensure that data is maintained in all the required rows
- Save the corrected CSV file.
- Retry the import process using the corrected file.
