Symptom

During Mass Maintenance for Business Partner, the process encounters the error "Business partner category not allowed in mass change."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the app Manage Mass Maintenance - Business Partner.
  2. Start a Mass Processing process for a business partner.
  3. Run the Edit step.
  4. Observe the error message: "Business Partner Category Not Allowed in Mass Change".

Cause

In the uploaded/imported file, the field Business Partner category (BUT000-TYPE) is included. 

Resolution

Remove or hide the column for the field Business Partner category (BUT000-TYPE), as the Business Partner category cannot be changed after the Business Partner has been created.
