3651479 - Quota Arrangement Not Reflected in Purchase Proposals – Supply Planning Products View

Symptom

When configuring multiple suppliers for a single product using a quota arrangement, the expected supplier sources do not appear in the "Products" view of the "Supply Planning" work center during purchase proposal creation.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Planning WoC.
  2. Go to Products View.
  3. Filter by All Products by Selection.
  4. Search for Product ID ABC in Supply Planning Area ID XYZ.
  5. Click Open.
  6. In the Supply and Demand List you will see that the Source is missing for most of the Purchase Proposals.

Cause

This behavior is due to the system design: when a purchasing contract with a quota arrangement is defined but no fixed source of supply is assigned, the system generates purchase proposals without a source of supply. Source determination is deferred until the proposal is released, at which point the system applies the quota arrangement to identify the appropriate supplier.

Resolution

  • No corrective action is required, as the system is functioning as intended.
  • To ensure supplier sources are applied correctly, release the purchase proposals so that source determination can occur based on the quota arrangement.
  • If this behavior does not meet business requirements, a feature request can be submitted via the SAP Customer Influence channel.
