Symptom
Due to a content packaging issue, the configuration of certain D/K (Customer or Vendor) reconciliation accounts of YCOA Chart of account was performed incorrectly. The parameter "Balances in local currencies only" was activated, although its activation is neither required nor permitted for Customer or Vendor accounts.
The parameter was incorrectly set for the following GL accounts:
| YCOA GL account number | GL account description (EN) | Affected countries |
| 12112000 |
Down Payments made for Inventory | Australia, India, New Zealand |
| 21720100 | Guarantees received from Vendors | Belgium, France |
| 12402000 | Depreciation Receivables from Aff.Companies |
Greece |
| 12511000 |
Accounts Receivable - BOE Bounced Check | Australia, Botswana, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, New Zealand, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, Zimbabwe |
This problem may be also encountered when using "Advanced Foreign Currency Valuation" program for FX revaluation. In this case, the system will alert you to issues with executing the FX revaluation posting by displaying the following message FINS_FI_CLS 057: "Currency conflict &1 &2".
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
Content package issue.
Resolution
The parameter “Balances in local currencies only” will be corrected for the affected GL accounts during future updates, provided in case if no postings have been made to the GL account.
If you plan to start using GL accounts (make postings) to the GL accounts in the near future, you need to review the GL accounts settings and deactivate the parameter manually.
Your Actions Required:
Steps to Identify and Correct G/L Account Configuration Issues
1. Identify all affected GL accounts and Company codes
Launch the "Manage G/L account Master Data" Fiori App (F0731A) and apply the necessary filters to identify GL accounts with incorrect configuration combinations. These may include:
- Standard SAP-delivered accounts with standard coding (see above)
- Standard SAP-delivered accounts that have undergone remapping
- Own GL accounts created during the implementation project
If such GL accounts are found, proceed to step 2.
2. Check for Transactional Data
Verify whether any postings have been made using the identified GL accounts.
3. Adjust GL Account Settings (if applicable)
If the GL account balance is zero in all currencies, you may proceed with correcting the GL account configuration directly.
4. Handle Accounts with Existing Balances
If the GL account has a non-zero balance (one or more line items), direct changes of the parameter “Balances in local currencies only” are not possible. You must transfer the line items to another GL account (either temporarily or permanently).
In such cases, please create a Service Now Customer case to receive detailed instructions.
For detailed guidance on how to perform steps 1–3, refer to the attached step-by-step guide.
Repeat steps 1–3 if more than one GL account with incorrect configuration is found.
Repeat steps 1–3 to adjust the settings in other tenants of your system as well.
