Symptom
- Business partner custom field does not accept special characters and replaces them with question marks.
- This issue occurs when attempting to set values in the SAP CPQ UI or via API endpoints.
- Special characters, such as Chinese letters, are not retained in custom fields but are retained in default fields like "First Name".
Environment
SAP Sales Cloud CPQ
Reproducing the Issue
- Edit the business partner custom field.
- Copy the value from the "Name" field and paste it into the "Company" custom field.
- Save and exit the business partner.
- Reopen the business partner and observe that the custom field no longer retains the Chinese characters.
Cause
Expected behavior.
Resolution
- Submit an enhancement request through the SAP Customer Influence Portal to address the feature gap.
- Monitor the enhancement request for updates on implementation.
