Symptom
When opening the Time Statement of an employee in the work center, no values are available in the Hours column, although times are recorded and visible in the Start and End time columns.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Time Administration work center
- Navigate to the Employees view and select the line of an employee
- Choose the "View Time Statement" button
- Select the concerned period
- Choose the "Preview" button
- Observe that values for Working Time exist in the Start and End columns, but the value in the Hours column is missing.
Cause
The visibility of the Hours in the Time Statement depends on several settings. The issue may be caused by the fact that only the Start and End time columns are filled in the Time Sheet. The Hours column is not intended to calculate a duration based on Start and End Time.
Resolution
Duration-based time recording means that working time valuation and calculations are based purely on the durations entered and that start and end times, which can be entered for information or documentation purposes, are not considered for the Timesheet Statement.
To maintain Hours, perform the following steps:
- Go to Time Administration work center
- Go to Time Sheet view
- Find and mark the line of an Employee
- Choose Open Time Sheet
- Go to the Time Entry tab
- Mark the row of a Time Entry
- Maintain hours in the Duration field
- Save and Release
