3653024 - When user opens the story, data won't be loaded for the first time in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • When user opens the story, data won't be loaded for the first time in SAC.
  • After selecting Data Refresh, the story will load the needed data.
  • In the DevTools GetResponse call the following error message can be found:
    1. Messages: [{Type: 2, MessageClass: "", Number: 0, Text: "Keine Berechtigung", OlapMessageClass: 0},…]

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC tenant with standard user.
  2. Open the story => data won't be loaded in the story.
  3. Then click on the data refresh button in the story => data will be loaded.

Cause

The issue is caused by a defect in the product.

Resolution

  • Workaround: BW query includes two optional exit variables. It appears that the story was saved without any selection for these variables. Please select members for these variables, save the story again, and then try opening it with the other user. Since these variables are dynamic, they will automatically adjust to the dynamic values provided for each user. However, saving the story without any selection for these variables might result in the issue you are experiencing.

  • The issue is fixed in a future** version of SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Please refer to maintenance document.
