3653200 - Error "An error occurred, kindly retry" while generating Token for Oauth - OpenID on SAP BI 4.3

Symptom

  • While generating token using OpenID connect SSO authentication, there is an error:
    • "An error occurred, kindly retry.
      If issue persists, please contact your administrator.
      Please close this window"

On the APS logs hosting the Security Token Service (STS) contains below details:

    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$Unexpected: An unexpected error has occurred (FWM 02004)

The error about SSL handshake visible in logs occurs when generating an OAuth Refresh Token for database access.

  • High-level trace logs indicate: "Failed to generate refresh token (or) forming redirect URL for BILaunchpad/openDocument workflow."
  • Error code: FWM 02004
  • Detailed error: "Received fatal alert: handshake_failure"
  • Error message: "An error occurred, kindly retry. If issue persists, please contact administrator. Please close this window."
