3653257 - LNX: Excessive reuse of same ephemeral ports for outbounding communications

Symptom

  • SAP applications frequently re-use same ephemeral port (i.e. 40403, 40404) for outbound communication to non-SAP destination server. 
  • If the reuse happens within a short timeframe (i.e. less than 60 seconds), the connection request will be rejected, as the remote is still in time_wait state.
