3653827 - Edge HTML control: certain character in pdf is not displayed properly in SAPGUI 8.00

Symptom

  • PDF documents fail to display certain characters(e.g. Chinese, Japanese or Korean character) properly when viewed in SAPGUI 800 using the Edge (Chromium base) browser control.
  • The issue does not occur when using the Internet Explorer browser control.
  • Issue occurs when using Windows 11 and SAPGUI 8.00 patch 6 64bit or lower patch level.
