Error occurs when trying to post a manual tax entry.

1. Navigate to the Tax Management Work Center > Manual Tax Entries > VAT Entries.
2. Search for the Manual Tax Entry ID: XYZ and open it.
3. Click "View All."
4. Click "Post."
5. Observe the error messages:
   No functional area could be assigned.
   Derivation for accounting principle 123, chart of accounts ABC , G/L account 12345, Nonsales Object

Since you have scoped to report Income Statement by Function of Expense and maintained the reporting principle as Funct of exp, the system tries and assign a functional area when it is hitting the G/L Account 12345 which is another operational expenses.

However, system is failing to assign since, it could not find a default functional area for nonsales object or a functional area assigned to this GL account in particular in the activity Settings for Income Statements by Function of Expense and Earned Profit Analysis.

1. Navigate to the Business Configuration Work Center > Implementation Projects view.
2. Select the relevant project and open the Activity List.
3. Go to the "Fine-Tuning Activities" tab.
4. Select the activity for "Income Statements by Function of Expense and Earned Profit Analysis."
5. Edit the functional area determination.
6. Add a new row in the "Determination Using G/L Accounts" tab.
7. Input the G/L account 12345, restrict to: 2 - Nonsales Object , and assign the appropriate functional area.
8. Save the changes.
9. Post the manual tax entry.
