3654884 - Unable to Post in Special Periods as Adjustment Periods when Posting Date is not in Final Period of Fiscal Year

When attempting to post to an Adjustment Period that is also a Special Period (e.g. periods 13–16 of fiscal year variant K4), the system automatically changes the fiscal period to the Normal Period of the posting date.

SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud 

The following example is using Fiscal Year Variant K4 (Jan-Dec) assuming only Special Adjustment Periods 13-16 are open:

1. Posting date is set before December, e.g. in November.
2. Fiscal period is manually entered as 13.
3. Simulate.
4. The system automatically changes the fiscal period to 11 (November).
5. The posting is rejected, as this period is closed.

Special Periods can only be posted to when the posting date is in the final fiscal period of the fiscal year variant.

Adjustment periods have no impact on the use of Special Periods. The system behaves as expected.
