3655842 - Emojis are NOT supported for Compensation & Variable Pay columns/fields

Symptom

Unable to add emojis into Compensation and Variable Pay formulas. When trying to add them, Validation Errors are triggered, such as:

  • "Error: The formula for custom field 123 refers to field [emoji] which is not included in the template."
  • "Error: The custom validation formula =[emoji] for field 123 is invalid."
  • "Error: The custom validation formula compConditionObject.condition([emoji]) for field 123 is invalid."

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation
  • SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Compensation Home > Select a template
  2. Go to Plan Setup > Design Worksheet > Add Column
  3. Create a custom column > Try to add emojis to the new field formula
  4. When saving the field > Validation error gets triggered

Cause

Expected behavior. Emojis are NOT supported for Compensation and Variable Pay formulas.

Resolution

Provide an Enhancement Request. This requests are collected and analyzed by our Engineering Team for possible features on future releases.
