3656123 - How to Re-Triggering Purchase Request Creation from a Third Party Sales Order

Symptom

The user canceled the purchase request associated with the sales order and wanted to create new purchase request again from the sales order.

For example: The purchase request ABC was created from the sales order XYZ, it was now cancelled status.

ABC represents the purchase request ID.

XYZ represents the sales order ID.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Sales Orders work center and navigate to the Sales Orders view.
  2. Search for Sales Order ID: XYZ.
  3. Click on View All and navigate to the Document Flow tab.
  4. Select Extended View to observe that Purchase Request ABC created.
  5. Open the purchase request ABC and notice that purchase request items are cancelled.

Cause

The user canceled the associated sales order items, which led to the cancellation of the corresponding purchase request items.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Sales Orders work center and open the Sales Orders view.
  2. Search for Sales Order ID: XYZ.
  3. Click on Edit and select View All.
  4. remove the "Reason for Rejection" for the line items.
  5. Save the Sales Order. The sales order cancellation is then removed.
  6. Navigate to the Outbound Logistics Control work center and open the Customer Demand view.
  7. Search for Sales Order ID: XYZ under "All Orders by Selection".
  8. Release the Customer Demand for the order.
  9. Navigate to the Purchase Requests and Orders work center and open the Purchase Requests view.
  10. Search for Purchase Request ID: ABC and open it.
  11. Click on Edit button.
  12. The Purchase Request has been re-created with new line items using the same Product ID.
