3656342 - Opportunities With In process Status Not Included In Forecast

Symptom

  • Opportunities with the status "In Process" are excluded from the forecast, even when they meet the inclusion criteria.
  • The issue arises when querying the forecast based on parameters such as Close Date, Owner, Status not equal to "Lost," and "Publish to Forecast" set to true.
  • Some opportunities meeting the criteria are included, while others are excluded.
  • No error messages or codes are displayed 

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

    1. Navigate to the Sales Work Center.  
    2. Open the "Forecast Administration" section.  
    3. Search for the forecast ID XXXX, where XXXX is a placeholder for Forecast ID.  
    4. Open the forecast XXXX, which is associated with user YYY.  
    5. Go to the "Opportunities" tab.  
    6. Observe that only 5 opportunities are listed.  
    7. Navigate to the Sales Work Center.  
    8. Select "Opportunities."  
    9. Use the "Advanced Search" option and apply the following filters:  
       • Owner: Specific user YYY.  
       • Close Date: Between 01.XX.2025 and 30.XX.2025.  
       • Status: Not equal to "Lost."  
       • Publish to Forecast: True.  
    10. Execute the search query.  
    11. Note that, for example, 8 opportunities are displayed in the search results.  
    12. Compare the opportunities listed in the forecast with the search results and identify the discrepancies.

    Question: Why Forecast ID has three missing opportunities as identified in step 11 above.

        Cause

        • The "Sales Unit" of the forecast must match the "Sales Unit" of the opportunities for inclusion in the forecast.  
        • Opportunities with a "Sales Unit" that does not match the forecast's "Sales Unit" are excluded.  
        • Three missing opportunities in Forecast ID XXXX have a different Sales Unit than the five included opportunities.  

        Resolution

        1. Verify the "Sales Unit" of the forecast and the opportunities.
        2. Ensure that the "Sales Unit" of the opportunities matches the "Sales Unit" of the forecast.
        3. If the "Sales Unit" of an opportunity is incorrect, update it to match the forecast's "Sales Unit".
        4. Refresh or sync the forecast to include the updated opportunities.
