3656519 - No data returns when filtering on a hierarchical Date Dimension on a Story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• No data returns when adding a filter on a hierarchical date dimension in a Story in SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Widgets on the Story are based on an SAP Datasphere Model, and when filtering on the same hierarchical date dimension in SAP Datasphere, it returns data.

1. Login to SAP Analytics Cloud.
2. Create a Story, and add a widget based on an SAP Datasphere Model.
3. Notice the widget returns data.
4. Add a Filter on the hierarchical date Dimension, set the hierarchy to: "Year Month Day" and select a value.
5. Observe that the widget displays no data, despite there is data for the selected value.

• In SAP Datasphere, the data type of the fact table for the date was defined as string, and in the model it was defined as a date.
• Due to the inconsistent data type, when filtering on the "date" dimension, it returned no data.

In SAP Datasphere, update the Fact table data type to match the model data type for the date dimension.
