3656602 - Information "Item &1 cannot be configured (Message no. V1469)" when Configuring Items in the Credit Memo Request

Unable to assign characteristics for the material when creating a credit memo request. A popup appears saying that "Item &1 cannot be configured (Message no. V1469)".

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create a credit memo request (e.g., via the "Create Sales Order - VA01" app) by filling in the necessary data.
2. Select the line item.
3. Click on the "Item Details: Configuration" button.
4. A popup appears saying that "Item &1 cannot be configured (Message no. V1469)".

The current item category used in the credit memo request is G2N, which does not support configurable materials.

1. Change the item category in the credit memo request to GMCS (Configurable Material, Pricing Item).
2. Ensure that the material master data includes the necessary configuration settings for the material.
3. Verify that the class and characteristics are correctly assigned in the classification view of the material master.
