While attempting to change the revenue recognition key in the 'Event-Based Revenue Recognition – Projects' app, the required key is not available in the dropdown list as it is incompatible.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the 'Event-Based Revenue Recognition - Projects' app.
2. Navigate to the detail page for the relevant WBS element.
3. Attempt to change the revenue recognition key.
4. Observe revenue recognition key is not available as it is incompatible.

It is possible to change the revenue recognition key only if it is compatible.

While attempting to change the revenue recognition key in the 'Event-Based Revenue Recognition – Projects' app, the required key is not available in the dropdown list. This occurs as key marked as incompatible, which is a standard behaviour.

But due to uncertainty in the business pattern, the appropriate final recognition key may not be determined at this stage. Under this business requirement, there is currently one way how to change revenue key, even though they are incompatible. 

Prerequisite:

• Billing WBS element has no EBRR posting
• OR all EBRR posting was cleared/balance to zero (on all active EBRR ledgers) with non rev rec key (e.g. NONREV) 

Action to key change

• Open Fiori Monitor for project
• Go to detail page for WBS element
• Press button for revenue recognition key change
• Type manually key  (not listed in dropdown menu as incompatible)Press save – there will be warning message – that key might be incompatible, but it will be changed
