Symptom
- An employee with termination date in the future decided to stay in the organization and the termination was revoked later.
- Despite the deletion of the termination record from the Manager's Job Info, the direct reports keeps reporting to the upper-level manager.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Terminate an employee with direct reports, selecting the "Transfer Direct Reports" option to move them to the upper-level manager.
- Revoke the termination before the effective date.
- Observe that the direct reports remain assigned to the upper level manager instead of reverting to the original manager.
Cause
- This is expected behavior.
- The system logic only processes direct report transfers based on the "Transfer Direct Reports" option selected during termination initiation.
- There is no built-in functionality to revert the reporting hierarchy upon termination revocation.
Resolution
- Manually delete the new job info record created for the direct reports' transfer to the upper-level manager or
- If Position Management is enabled, utilize Automated Hierarchy Adaptation to correct such transfers during the next job run.
