Symptom
- Fields in Datasphere (DS) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) are not appearing as expected
- Date fields in DS are appearing as string values in SAC, while they are date values in DS
- In SAC, these date fields cannot be selected in the prompt value and output the following errors in SAC:
- Error message: "Caught exception: exception 70000403: internal error: Error opening the cursor for the remote database . Error for 'SAPI.ZFI_SAC_01': internal system error ERROR_MESSAGE."
- Further investigation reveals error in the .har file response: "Variable value is set even though a valuehelp is applied. Value is set for user's id even though the valuehelp is applied. So all values will be ignored."
- All three variables work as expected in DS without outputting an error. They appear as date values that can be selected without issue.
Environment
- Story Design & Visualizations
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the affected story.
- Observe the prompt window:
- Attempt to select the variables "user's id". These appear as string values without a calendar icon. Attempting to select values for either outputs the following error:
- "Caught exception: exception 70000403: internal error: Error opening the cursor for the remote database . Error for 'SAPI.ZFI_SAC_01': internal system error ERROR_MESSAGE."
- In DS, open the model and observe that the variables "user's id" are date values and can be selected without issue.
