Symptom

When adding a discount condition type in a SD document, only the net value is influenced, but the tax part is not reflecting.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a SD document in editable mode.
  2. Enter a discount condition type in the condition tab of the item level.
  3. Observe that the net value and the tax
  4. The new added discount is reflected in the net value, but not the tax amount.

Cause

A possible cause is the step of the discount condition type is configured to occur after the tax condition in the pricing procedure.

As a result, when the discount condition type is applied in the SD document, the tax calculation has already been completed and the discount condition type will not be reflected in the tax.

Resolution

  1. Modify the sequence of the discount condition type in the pricing procedure so that it is set before the tax condition.
  2. Save the changes to the pricing procedure configuration.
  3. Test the sales order creation process again to confirm that the tax amount is now correctly reduced when the discount condition type is applied.
