3658230 - XML File For Mexico Electronic Accounting Shows G/L Accounts As "Desc="Sin descripción""

The XML file generated by Mexico Electronic Accounting Run tags G/L Accounts as "Desc="Sin descripción", although the descriptions are correctly maintained in Activity: Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.

This document is relevant if you use the system in Spanish language.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Open Mexico Electronic Accounting view.
3. Highlight Run ID ABC.
4. Click View Report Run Results.
5. Go to the Attachments tab.

You see that for grouping codes, all G/L Accounts show description as "Sin descripción", as of the example from the following snippet:
<catalogocuentas:Ctas CodAgrup="113.01" Desc="Sin descripción" Natur="D" Nivel="2" NumCta="DEF"/>

(ABC represents the Run ID and DEF a G/L Account)

Account descriptions are missing on Charts of Accounts when logged in English. If you log into the system in English language and check the G/L Accounts descriptions maintained in Activity: Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination you will notice that the Description field is empty.

As per current system design regarding translation, it is necessary to maintain the G/L Account descriptions in the English system instance as well, according to the steps below:

1. Certify that all Descriptions are maintained in the system while logged in Spanish.
2. Log off and then Log In in English.
3. Go to Business Configuration.
4. Open Overview view, search for Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination and open it.
5. Click on Edit Charts of Accounts.
6. Notice that the Description column is empty for the related G/L Accounts which returned as "Sin descripción" in the Mexico Electronic Accounting Run.
7. Maintain the descriptions (In Spanish) and save.

Then when you run the Mexico Electronic Accounting Run while logged in Spanish, the XML output from the Run will have the G/L Account descriptions as required.
