3658341 - Position Vacant is not changed and direct reports are not transferred when a workflow is triggered after Import Termination Details

A termination workflow is triggered when terminate a manager via Import Termination Details. After the workflow is finally approved, check manager’s position, the vacant field is not updated to “Yes”, and direct reports are not transferred to next manager as well.

This happens only when the termination is implemented via import Termination Details and a workflow is triggered.

1. Import termination details to terminate a manager, trigger workflow
2. Approve the workflow
3. Check manager’s position in Manage Data<position, the vacant is not updated
4. Check direct reports’ Job Information, no manager change record is inserted

This works by system design now.

Transfer direct reports through Termination import is only supported when "Position Management" feature is enabled, under "Position Management settings -> Hierarchy Adoption-> Leading Hierarchy is Position Hierarchy" and no workflow is triggered.

• If "Position Management" is not enabled then Transfer Direct reports through Termination Import with/without workflow is not supported.
• If Leading Hierarchy is not Position Hierarchy then Transfer Direct reports through Termination Import with/without workflow is not supported.
• If termination workflow is triggered when import Termination Details, transfer Direct reports and position vacant change are not supported. This is due to the complexity of termination import.

Workaround

In such scenario, please terminate the manager via People Profile Page -- Actions< Termination. Or update direct reports' manager and position vacant manually after termination workflow approval.
