When creating a billing document (customer or intercompany) in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the system issues the following error:

• 8A/652 – No sufficient record found in control table for &1/&2/&3, mm/dd/yyyy

This error can appear during manual billing (e.g., VF01) or automated billing via the “Schedule Billing Creation” app.

This error occurs when the system cannot find a matching ODN (Official Document Numbering) record in the control table for the combination of:

• Company Code

• Business Place

• Document Class

• Fiscal Year

The control table defines number range assignments for billing and accounting documents at the business place level.
In most cases, this happens because the configuration entry for that specific combination is missing or expired.

To correct this error:

1. Access configuration activity SSCUI 103785 – “Assign Number Ranges to Business Places” in the Manage Your Solution app.
2. Add or update the missing entry for the affected combination:
   • Company Code: (e.g., 2000)
   • Business Place: (e.g., OD01)
   • Document Class: (e.g., GF2 for billing documents)
   • Date / Fiscal Year: Ensure it covers the current period (e.g., 2025).
   • Assign the appropriate Number Range Group.
3. Save and retry billing document creation.

If the issue persists, verify:

• The business place is correctly assigned to the plant under the corresponding company code.
• The document type (billing type) is linked to the correct ODN Document Class via configuration.
• The fiscal year’s number range has not expired.
