Symptom

  • nvarchar(max) imported as nvarchar(0) when using ODBC connection for SQL Server.
  • Does Information Steward support nvarchar(max) and what does it convert to?
  • nvarchar(max) data type is handled correctly with MSSQL Server native driver.
  • How to import nvarchar(max) data type into IS while import it shows nvarchar(0) in IS hence not able to read data
  • Error when viewing data on the table: SELECT query <SELECT COUNT(*) FROM "dbo"."tablename"> failed. The database error message is <SQL submitted to ODBC data source <odbcname> resulted in error <[SAP BODS][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver][Microsoft SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near 'dbo'.>. The SQL submitted is <SELECT COUNT(*) FROM "dbo"."tablename">.>.
  • Cannot add nvarchar(max) to a view.
  • Cannot view data on a table with nvarchar(max) data type in it.
