3658674 - How to use Purge Utility - Information Steward 4.x

Purge Utility:

• Utilities provide valuable services for maintaining various aspects of SAP Information Steward.
• In SAP Information Steward, purge utilities refer to tools or processes used to delete or remove obsolete or unnecessary data—such as logs or temporary files—in order to optimize system performance and manage storage efficiently.
• Deletes database logs after Integrator sources or Information Steward tasks are deleted. If Integrator sources or Information Steward tasks are still present, the logs will remain.
• Deletes profile results, scores, and sample data that exceed the configured retention period.
• Deletes match review tasks that exceed the configured retention period.
• Deletes Data Cleansing Advisor staged data tables that exceed the configured retention period. (Users can restore data cleansing solutions if necessary, even if staged data has been purged.)
• Deletes logically deleted information, including sample data for profiling and rule tasks.
• The disk space in the Information Steward repository can be increased through regular purging.
• As a best practice, it is recommended to schedule the purge utility to run during non-business hours.
