3658708 - No prompt for username and password appears when opening a live data connection story in the Analytics app of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Symptom

No prompt for username and password appears when opening a live data connection story in the Analytics app of SAC

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud
SAC Mobile iOS

Data-source: S/4HANA and BW

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAC Analytics application in iOS
  2. Attempt to open a live connection-based story

Notice: No authentication pop-up appears.

Cause

  • The connection does not satisfy Apple's App Transport Security (ATS) requirements.
  • TLSv1.2 or higher is not enabled for the BW server, resulting in failed ATS Default Connection tests.

Resolution

Disable Prevent cross-site tracking in Preference for remote connection with Basic Authentication.

  1. Verify the BW server configuration to ensure compliance with Apple's ATS requirements.
  2. Enable TLSv1.2 or higher for the BW server.
  3. On a Mac terminal, run the command `nscurl --ats-diagnostics ` to confirm that the ATS Default Connection result is PASS.
  4. Refer to Apple's documentation for ATS requirements: System Requirements and Technical Prerequisites | SAP Help Portal
