3658902 - Error: Usage of depreciation method <Z123> in valuation view 1 of set of books "ABC" for fixed asset XYZ is permitted only for internal valuation views

A custom depreciation method "Z123" was created using the template "CTSLSPSD" and when trying to assign the custom depreciation "Z123" to a fixed asset, the following error occurs:

"Z123" means the Depreciation Method Key
"ABC" means the Set of book ID
"XYZ" means the Fixed Asset ID

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the Fixed Assets work center > Fixed Assets view.
2. Search for the Fixed Asset ID: XYZ 
3. Open the Fixed Asset and click View All.
4. Navigate to Master Data > Asset Valuation.
5. Try to assign the depreciation method "Z123."
6. Observe the error message: "Usage of depreciation method <Z123> in valuation view 1 of set of books "ABC" for fixed asset XYZ is permitted only for internal valuation views"

Template CTSLSPSD has a restriction that allows the depreciation method to be used only for internal valuation views and not for book valuation views.

For custom templates copied from template CTSLSPSD, the system only allows depreciation in internal valuation views.
This is the expected system behavior.
