3659294 - Widgets stopped working in SAP Analytics Cloud stories using SAP Datasphere models

SAC Stories that are using widgets copied from other stories using Datasphere models are facing different issues:

• • Charts/Tables/Filters showing error or not showing data.
  • Model ID is shown instead of the model name in the builder panel or in the edit data source menu.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2025.14.12
• SAP Datasphere

1. Login to SAC.
2. Create a new Story.
3. Copy widgets using DSP models from an existing Story.
4. Save the newly created Story.
5. Reopen the Story.
6. Notice that the copied widgets are not working anymore.

This issue is caused by a product defect with a newly delivered feature in 2025 Q3 QRC release of SAC which was meant to allow the copy & paste of widgets consuming SAP Datasphere models between stories. 

• SAP Development team has to fix the problem manually on case by case basis.
  • Please create a support case in SAP for Me referring to this KBA. 
• In order to prevent further story/widget corruption issues, we are turning OFF the problematic new "copy & paste" feature until the implementation can be updated to correct the behavior.
