3659472 - Error "BF00407" when maintaining tax number length for algerian nif in sap s/4hana cloud public edition

While attempting to change the tax character length to 20 for the Algeria DZ (NIF) tax code 1, an error message is displayed: "Enter field with a length of 000016" in the country field checks.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Access the "Maintain Business Partner" application.
2. Attempt to extend the tax number field length to 20 characters for Algeria DZ (NIF) tax code 1 using SSCUI 102592 - Set Country-Specific Checks.
3. Observe the error message: "Enter field with a length of 000016."

The tax numbers are defined with maximum length, so entered values longer than the specified value will trigger an error 'BF00407'.

Maximum length of tax numbers:

• Tax number 1 (STCD1): maximum length '16' character
• Tax number 2 (STCD2): maximum length '11' character
• Tax number 3 (STCD3): maximum length '18' character
• Tax number 4 (STCD4): maximum length '18' character
• Tax number 5 (STCD5): maximum length '60' character
• VAT Registration number (STCEG): maximum length '20' character

The maximum length of tax numbers are hardcoded, so they cannot be modified.

Make sure that the correct tax number field is selected to fill the data. The list of standard tax categories is displayed in Note:
