3659519 - Error "FAGL_POSTING012" when trying to switch OIM by ledger group to normal OIM - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When trying to deactivate the OIM by ledger group in order to activate normal OIM for a G/L account, it throws an error: Not poss. to deselect "Clearing Specific to Ledger Grp" ind. subsequently.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open app Manage G/L Account Master Data
2. Search for the specific account
3. Click edit and untick the OIM by ledger group
4. Error occurred

Standard system design.

If a ledger group specific journal entry is already posted to the G/L account, normal OIM can never be activated any more.

This is also mentioned in Posting and Clearing for Specific Ledger Groups | SAP Help Portal :

" Once you’ve created an account for open item management by ledger group and you have since made postings to this account, you can’t convert the account back into one using ordinary open item management. "

Create a new account with normal OIM activated for the future transactions.
