Symptom

Need to create a proforma invoice with reference to a quotation using the Create Billing Documents (VF01) app.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Quotations are not billing-relevant in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. The item category in the quotation (AGN) is not configured for billing and therefore quotations cannot serve as a source for proforma invoices.

Resolution

Review the following information to create a proforma invoice with reference to a quotation:

  1. Use the Preliminary Billing Document functionality via the Manage Preliminary Billing Documents (F2875) app as an alternative approach. 
    • Preliminary billing documents are optional intermediary documents created for negotiation purposes.
    • They are structurally identical to standard billing documents.
    • They are relevant for output but do not post to financial accounting.
